Mortality

I'm fine just couldnt poop. Early morning thoughts from a hospital bed in a rare moment of relative quiet. Only the machines designed to keep people alive can be heard whirring and blipping, beeping away the seconds as they pass. It all starts with Imagination and creativity. Out of the darkness came a voice, "Let there be light". (We will skip the whole creation part and go directly to the practical portion of or program)...
Authenticity is the goal, being real is the key. Discovering your true self and being faithful to it. Recognizing that everything evolves and must change, grow, decline and die. We are multifaceted, constantly evolving and shouldn't resist. We are given limited opportunities to have this portion of our experience.
Knowing ourselves is probably the best we can do. Sharing ourselves is the best we can offer. Being ourself is the objective. Not what others want or expect of us, but what is consistent with what we know about who we are, remembering we are in a constant state of flux and may want to do some remodeling every once in a while. In fact for me it has been a consistent necessity.

Life is good. Death isn't so bad. It reminds you; you only have a limited time! Be real.

E-mail back to yet another plea for me to do their job.. And send money to stop the madness.

Exactly how is it that a clearly out numbered faction of American society can hold the Government hostage. Where's LBJ when you need him?  OK, your incompetent.  I get that.  So why am I going to send you money again?  My voice obviously means nothing to you or them. What you are really after is my money.  Well guess what?  I'm done with supporting a party that cannot deliver.  You do not need to feed the media consultants and grease the wheel of the PR machine to get this done.  We are paying attention!  You are flailing like a child who can't swim whose fallen in a moving stream. If politicians would stop holding their hands to their face and rolling their eyes like the apocalypse is around the corner unless I chip in $100 bucks and do what you were elected to do, none of this would be necessary.  Instead of feeding the oligarchs and the sucker fish that have attached themselves to the body politic, get off your asses and take them on. Ohh no that would upset too many apple carts, would it?  So what?  The whole system is corrupt to its core.  you see it happening all around you yet you cannot see it in your own back yard.  We are tired of incompetence and excuses as to why some elements of our society do very well even when they rob everyone else and bring the economy to its knees; politicians especially must like it there... on their knees.  Oh how much did you say you needed to fix this mess you just created by sucking the wealth out of everything around you? $3 trillion? No problem here you are sir and please let us know if we need to take more away from the middle class so that you keep us afloat.

We are the biggest, baddest, most powerful, richest, best at knowing what's good for you country in the world. We have this enormous military machine that has become necessary to keep in constant motion or it will begin to choke on itself as the material and equipment going in must be relieved by what is expended in destructive ways going out. I mean what are enormous stockpiles of weapons and ammunition and vehicles to transport them and all the rest of it going to do if we don't use them to keep the pipeline open. Those industries cannot close their doors because we no longer are using their products. Imagine what that would do to the economy. It may be the only domestic manufacturing still going on.

Wait! Please don't tell me we are buying all our military stuff from China... Wait again. We could totally ruin their economy by not buying anymore weapons and military stuff. Oh, oh then they would find a reason to threaten us so that we would have to defend ourselves. What would we do? Bomb their military industries and deprive both sides of the weapons and material they need to continue? That would be weird. Anyway we diverge from the point.

 We've got an enormous perpetual motion machine to feed. We need to bomb stuff, send aircraft carriers and cruise missile destroyers to new places and use them. We've spent trillions of dollars equipping the most powerful military force ever known to man (who can't seemingly fight it's way out of any ground wars anymore, but that's another subject). And we are being promised that we are going to wind down the one in Afghanistan. It's not that good of a war anyway. No big targets to bomb. Just sheep and mujaheddin living in the mountains. They don't even have a real army, with tanks and jets and missiles. Syria does though. So we could bomb the shit out of that country. Blow up all kinds of Chinese manufactured military equipment with some of our own. Everyone's over supply of military stuff would be lessened and there would of course now be more incentive to resupply.

It's a win, win except for those people who get killed. But hey. Who really wants to live in Syria anyway. I mean 2 million have already left. So yeah, let's bomb the shit out of em. No boots on the ground though. We'll just let them sort through the rubble and figure out which faction has more weapons left to stay in power. Oh wait! I'm not thinking this through. Then we go in with those big ginormous military transports that we have just sitting around, filled with a bunch of new weapons, that we then give to the factions we think we can manipulate.

Perfect! Now we've got a whole new ally in the Middle East whom we can count on to support Israel. Hey this strategy could work everywhere! Humanitarian military strikes throughout the Middle East, well anywhere really, wherever there are unfriendly regimes that just don't get the American Way of treating people. Blow them up, put in puppet regimes, treat them like they deserve to be treated until they come around to appreciating all we have done for them and protect Israel (now the second most powerful nation in the world, because the first does whatever they want). And of course root the "American Way" firmly in the minds of the rest of the world as the best possible way...or else.

USA, USA, USA

Geopolitical disciplinarian extraordinaire. I guess we are the Big Boy in the world playground. Hey Syria! You listening? Don't be killing your own people with Gas. You must blow them up, or at least apart with machine gun fire. Much more civilized, haven't you seen Snowden's videos? OK, now you've forced our hand. We are going to kick your ass, but remotely. Nothing personal, keep on killing each other, just do it according to the established rules. We'll show you how by blowing up some of your stuff and lots of people, using the latest explosive and delivery technology. Absolutely no Gas needed. We'll even refrain from using Napalm or herbicides like we did, very indiscriminately in the past. We are simply going to blow up people and stuff as a way of encouraging you to do the same. So get on board. Putin and China will be very happy to sell you all the bombs and missiles and tanks and rocket launchers you need. So take that Assad, you'll be sorry you started using that Gas. Don't do it again!

Having a dream

Wait a minute! I know I have memory problems, but it looks like the whole country does too. We just "celebrated" 50 years since the March on Washington and not once was there any mention of Stokely Carmichael, Eldridge Cleaver, Bobby Seale, Malcolm X, Huey Newton, Angela Davis? No mention of angry black voices? Are they whitewashing the civil rights movement? Ohhh, Kennedy was so pleased that nothing happened, he invited the Rev. MLK and friends for a photo op. Why do you think that is? Because people like Malcolm and Eldridge, etc had them scared shitless. Let's tell the real story of the civil rights movement America. It wasn't all that peaceful, a lot of strange fruit hanging from Southern trees and angry black men carrying guns, and cops with dogs and fire hoses and national guard troops shooting at people on hill tops. Oooh, that's all behind us now. We can all hold hands and sing cumbaya now, while Sheriff Joe and Mayor Bloomberg continue the traditions of killing the dream.

Red Lines or Red Vines

Hey, never mind the almost 2 million people who have been displaced and are now refugees, dependent on the good will of their foreign neighbors, or the 100,000 plus killed by gunfire, air attacks, conventional missiles, bombs, and assorted explosive devices that have not discriminated in dismembering and slaughtering untold numbers of women and children, on top of the total destruction of homes, businesses and means of self support. Somebody used a chemical weapon and now by golly we are going to do something about it. How about killing some more people with cruise missiles that only kill the bad guys and destroy their mechanisms of war? That will make Assad feel bad for sure. And it will mean our arsenal of expensive, smart, no kill of innocent people weapons, will be depleted and we'll have to crank up the war machine to make some more, only these will be even better at not killing women and children at a slightly increased cost. (I hear they have developed a new gas that only kills people with beards). Does anyone know what a cruise missile goes for these days? Might as well throw in another nuclear powered Carrier or Destroyer, (don't you just love it - build a Destroyer for peace) can't ever have too many. Who knows what horrible thing some country might do to its own people that we will have to go straighten out in the name of humanitarian decency, by killing lots more people and blowing things up. Then of course Halliburton will have to go in and rebuild everything at a huge profit and Congress will take the money out of Social Security to pay for it. "War is Peace"

State of Affairs

Gee, what a surprise!  One group hates another and is willing to abuse, discriminate and if necessary massacre them to ensure their own self interests. Interesting angle is that this is usually driven by a perceived economic disadvantage/advantage couched in religious  or racial/ethnic terms.  It's not only OK to have a Crusade/Jihad; it's seen as  doing God's will.  Mix in racial/ethnic identity and all stops are open.  It's not only seen as acceptable to violate the Constitution and target a whole race and generation in New York, or Florida, or anywhere really; it's essential to do so; and for those with short memories, been going on everywhere from the very beginning.  "It's in their own best interests", whites proclaim.  "Look how many lives it saves and crime is down".  Am I hearing echoes of the justifications for slavery?  Before being enslaved, they were naked savages you know.  In fact: elimination of indigenous peoples was a fundamental principle of the conquest of the "New World".  "New"  to the European invaders.  Too bad the "old" inhabitants didn't have gun powder and canons, horses and chicken pox.  Oh, well, that's progress.

Interesting though how the world is rapidly deteriorating into waring camps.  It's nothing new.  It has been going on forever, but there does seem to be an acceleration taking place around the globe.  People are much more willing to blow each other up in the name of their own particular tribe.  Everybody now has access to the tools of mass destruction and they seem more than willing, if not anxious to use them.  Vehicles of all sorts being used as bombs targeting the general public is rampant.  We already are hearing reports of the use of chemical/biological weapons, how long will it be before the unthinkable becomes doable?  After all the people in Egypt are at war with their own military.  The military doesn't seem to have any compunctions against slaughtering crowds with machine-gun fire or "suffocating" prisoners with tear gas while incarcerated.  Insurgents, seem to have a penchant for blowing up churches, occupied or not and I'd be careful about gathering too many police or soldiers together without securing the perimeter in the future.

So what am I driving at?  Simply that this is nothing new, but something that seems to be gaining momentum everywhere.  I'm not sure what is driving it, but as I said at the beginning: economic self interests always seems to be playing a significant role.  Unless governments learn how to spread the wealth, it seems to me we are headed  in the direction of greater polarization and that seems to lead to either violent turmoil or heavy handed oppression.  We can see an extended period of both that only seems to lead to more of the same.  Maybe, Mayor Bloomberg and other apologists for fascism, the reason crime went down in the neighborhoods is because there were more jobs available to young people who were otherwise left hanging out on the streets?

Letter to Congress on SS Reform

I seriously doubt that any actual person in government, much less member of Congress will actually read this, but let me put it down and be among the millions of Americans whose voices will be ignored in the name of a newfound austerity for the masses in favor of empire building for the oligarchy.  A kind of reverse New Deal. Let's bail out the banks and Wall Street and have the elderly, retired and working poor pay for it and while we are at it take down all the safety nets for those unable to support themselves through a near depression.  It is clear that our entire government from the President on down has been bought and paid for by the ruling class of wealthy international corporations and super rich 1%.  It no longer matters who we vote for, because no one gets to be a viable candidate who is not already aligned with their donors, or mere distractions of simple minded solutions who serve to keep our attention diverted from what is really going on.

So go ahead, screw the elderly.  They aren't going to be around much longer anyway, even more so once the impact of these "necessary adjustments" to save the program, begin sucking out the food and shelter they can now barely afford.  You want to save Social Security? Then why are you making it untenable for those receiving it after paying into it all their working lives, to survive?  We keep hearing how bad the economy is and there simply isn't enough coming in to support the programs we established during the Great Depression.  How is it that the Stock Market is at unprecedented levels and wealth is being accumulated hand over fist by those magicians who just a few years ago made trillions of dollars disappear that we, the real tax payers, had to pony up to keep them from suffering the consequences of their own pocket lining schemes?  We could certainly afford it then couldn't we?  So I'm resigned to trying to get a job at 68 in order to make ends meet. Because it is much more important that the super rich not pay their share of the wealth they earned by bilking the system.  That would be detrimental to the economy.  Better to pit the elderly against the young for minimum wage jobs.

New World Disorder

Let me see...Huma is actually double agent working for the Isrealies to derail Hillary's campaign for the Presidency and having a double affair with both Hillary and Bill, behind their backs. Anthony is a pawn pumped up on a new hormonal treatment that makes you BIG, but stupid and serves merely as a distraction while the rest of the country goes to hell in a hand basket.  The Brits who are orchestrating the complete hypocratization of  Democratic ideals are finally getting revenge for that revolution thing that brought down their empire and little Prince George will ultimately rule the oligarchy now being rooted throughout the Western world by the Illuminati.

Another pargon of virtue has proven himself to be exactly what he proved himself to be the last time we revelled in his lack of common sense. When I send pics of my junk out on the net I assume I'm open game for "exposure".  Carlos Danger must have suspected he would be uncovered. Maybe he likes the exposure? Isn't that the objective? A little exposure, a lot of attention, lots of mea culpas, press conferences, apologies, promises to embarrassed wife and on and on. In the mean time he's creaming his pants. So called News outlets lead with his erection, in your face America. And I might add lots of free publicity for his mayoral campaign. I see a trend. Every candidate will soon start making sex tapes and leak them to the press. How shocking! Politicians are such paragons of virtue? Come on... The Weiner will get elected mayor, cuz voters are real people and they know one of their own. He literally has the balls to just let it hang for all to see. People admire that and there ain't no place on earth more perverted than NYC. Can't wait for the next election - all the candidates vying for the front page of the tabloids.

Fist bump with Big Brother

Initially I was a big fan of Barack Obama and as a former Democratic Party activist, a staunch Party supporter. I can no longer say the same. It is clear to me that each Party uses different rhetoric to get the same place.  We are still at war all over the globe, only it has become clandestine and privatized.  We continue to feed the ever present appetite of corruption both at home and abroad. Banks and other engines of Finance suck the value out of everything they touch, walk away with the loot and leave the taxpayers holding the bag. Which they must promptly refill or the consequences are too dire to contemplate, while millions of homeowners and individual investors loose everything.  Their remedy? "Suck it up people. Move in with your kids.". The "middle class" is shrinking rather than growing.  Everything is being privatized and paid for by the wage earner while corporations and the oligarchy who benefit most, pay virtually nothing.  The "dumbing down of America" is accelerating, starving the public school system while subsidizing a private education system that is designed to avoid equalization of educational opportunities for the masses.  While we are distracted by extremist blathering about God's will and the principles of "Manifest Destiny" in the modern age, the machinery of government publicly grinds to a halt while secretly, everything that "We the People" proclaimed in the Constitution, has been systematically undermined to the point that the Public is dismissed as alarmists and terrorist sympathizers, or traitors for questioning a total loss of any privacy in our communication with each other.  The Government has become so imbued with secrecy, that it doesn't even allow others within the Government who ought to know what's going on, to be informed.  Every "New Deal" program meant to insulate the worker and underprivileged, upon whom the prosperity of our economy is built, from the rapacious excesses of Capitalism and greed of those that would exploit them and then let them starve in the streets, are being unraveled in the name of austerity.  Can't increase the contributions of those who have benefited the most though. They need their wealth so that they can increase it through further exploitation.  Exactly what is it that our President and his party are doing about it?  Uh, promoting the same policies that got us here to begin with.  I could go on, but you get the drift.  Simply put: I don't support where we are going and, don't believe any of you are interested in changing the direction.  It's slight of hand politics.  Keep our attention focused on what level of a theocracy we ought to become while the oligarchy digs in and secures its primacy, no matter what.

Thoughts for the day

War survivors, cancer survivors, old age survivors, all of us patiently waiting... I keep wondering what for? Lately, it all seemed pretty useless.  Why get up? All right, I gotta pee. But other than that? Don't even want to eat, or shower. Kept wondering why everywhere I went it smelled so bad. The Viet Nam era vet with all his ribbons and patches proudly displayed on his hat must have an answer. Forgot to ask him. The cancer survivor now discovering another part of his body is betraying him... What the fuck are we waiting for? Everyone in that waiting room had already lived their life, what were we waiting for? I mean in a big picture sort of way. Its all down hill from here. Told the receptionist "don't get old". She says allot of the patients say that. I refrased: no, do get old, just enjoy life when your young, make the most out of it.

For me I got very little to look forward to. Sure I got financial struggles, Days filled with nothing to do, no one to talk to except bill collectors. They are heartless. Whenever I start telling them about my plight, they go right back to the script. Mr. Aros, if you don't make a payment immediately... yada, yada. "But I've got no food in my refrigerator and..."; "then you won't mind if we turn off your electricity". Heartless. And they're young. I used to think if I woke up in the morning it was a good day. Now... Its just another day slogging through shit I don't feel much like slogging through. I realize it's just as easy to take on the challenge as it is to have none, but what if you just don't care? Either way. What am I waiting for? To get out of debt? Woo hoo, then what? I don't even have an interest in buying a lottery ticket. What if I won? I'm sitting here with a dog that's not even mine. She's anxious. I can tell. She wants to go do something. Me? I wanna go do nothing. There you have it. I'd really like to take her for a walk, but its 200 degrees out there and I couldn't walk from here to the corner on a good day. So I stay here writing this little ditty thinking..."at least it's something"... yeah, interference with my space out time. I feel bad about leaving the dog alone. I have no problem being alone. Just wondering what the fuck am I waiting for?

Big Brother

Hope and Change, Change we can Believe in. Just lies.  The machinery of government goes on regardless of what the people expect. The lever pullers just paint with different colors, use different rhetoric, but the end result is the same. They aren't even in charge. The levers are already well established and new ones are not permitted.  In order to stay on top of it all the system needs access to all the information it can gather. No information is useless and the more you have the better it is.  My God, millions of dollars are made in nanoseconds because access to information on market trends gives traders an edge. Knowing, who we are talking to and what we are talking about and how often is just like market analysis. Our overlords can use that information to make predictions on who is most likely to be problematic and take preemptive action.  I'm sure algorithms are already being used to predict public trends and who are likely targets should it become necessary.  Privacy is antithetical to control. Big Brother is here in ways Orwell couldn't possibly have imagined.

Pussy Riot

Allllright, Pussy Riot members not in jail, are combing the halls of Congress, collaring Members to get something done about human rights violations in Russia.  While Congress holds secret hearings, secret meetings with secret agencies and administration officials for secret briefings on all some of the stuff this Administration is doing in contravention of  not only our own Constitution, but human rights conventions recognized world wide.  We are not only violating our own citizen's Constitutional rights to privacy, but using Robots to kill anyone the President sees as ripe for assassination anywhere in the world, even if there might be a little innocent collateral damage, or black ops assassinations that might be a little cleaner, even if totally illegal. Hey, if you want security, you gotta bend a little on morality. Meanwhile we continue to hold prisoners without charge probably in a lot more places then we will ever know about, force feed them when they take the only action they have left to protest their treatment and imprisonment. While we deprive them of every other element of human dignity.  We are our own worst nightmare and I'm sure Congress will do everything it can to bring Russia into the 21st Century in respecting the rights of it's dissidents.  In the meantime, let's implement a program where we arm every household in America with miniature closed circuit cameras, keeping a watchful eye on what's going on with your neighbors. Spy satellites that see through roofs can't possibly give us enough information to root out all those terrorists, wherever they may be hiding.  Besides, it's a good law enforcement tool too.  Much easier to root out that garage based pot farm next door.  Next time your neighbor goes grocery shopping, just install these little buggers all over his house... The government will hook them up to the grid and we are all set...Big Brother is watching.

I think I first became self aware when I got out of my little makeshift bed in what I think was the laundry room off the kitchen at my grandparent's house.  It was the middle of the night and as I walked towards the doorway I ran into an invisible wall.  On the other side of the wall was everything I was familiar with and a loving sanctuary.  But I kept bumping up against a barrier that wasn't there.  I was four or five I think.  I refused to be deterred and pounded on it with my fists and leaned into it with my shoulder, until something on the other side became aroused.  It still sends chills down my back to recall the dark hulking, hairy gorilla that I had awoken.  He rushed at me and I quickly scrambled back into my bed pulling the covers over my head...terrified, not daring to approach that barrier again...  Or was it that day long before I went to stay with my beloved grandparent's, when my mother and father were arguing over "that woman", whatever that meant?  I watched as she got in his face, screaming at him and he pushed her away, knocking her down.  Not being someone who gives up easily, she got right back up and went after him again, only this time I had joined her side and pulled at his pant legs, trying to get between them to make it stop.  He shoved me aside  and pushed her down onto the couch again.  I grabbed another handful of trouser and tried as I might to pull him away as they screamed at each other.  I was useless, but he soon did retreat and left us...forever.  Self awareness came early I think.

Syria, let's divide it!

I'm confused.  Why are we involved in Syria's civil war?  It's hypocritical to claim any moral purpose of preventing Assad's government from massacring his own people.  We have no qualms about massacring people all over the the place and standing back or supporting other governments who do the same.  Are we taking sides in an Islamic power struggle?  Exactly how is the "Great Satan" going to come out of that looking good?  Is Israel driving the bus?  Jesus! How ironic.  Hey, I know. Let's create a new non sectarian state in the Middle East where everybody who has been forced out of their homeland can go.
